9:48 am	Oscar Party? So yesterday the kid came home from college for spring break, so I figured since she was going to be home I'd pick up some munchies and margarita mix for a mini Oscar party. Having grown up with a mom (or should I say dad?) who is/has gay-identified FTM GID, Erin is probably most at home in the gay community. Last night she went dancing to celebrate having finished exams and her friends, gay brothers stopped in. Jake and Fred saw the tequilla & margarita mix on the counter, so Erin explained that we were having an Oscar party. Fred says: "You're having an Oscar party? Can we come?" Okay sure, except I'm hardly an entertainer. My specialty is a Banquet Chicken Pot Pie and a nuked potato. Should I attempt to embody my cousin Mark, who last week threw a Mardi Gras soiree, that neighbors called the party of the century? Umm, no. In honor of Brokeback, it's chips, salsa and bean dip.. 10:02 am	Project Runway Is anybody watching? Last year on the Shoboards, a lot of folks were talking about Project Runway. I didn't know what all the hoopla was about until December when I caught a P.R. marathon. Now I'm in love again. Okay it's not QAF but nothing ever will be. Santino - From the beginning I thought Santino was a pretentious pain in the ass, who's designs were often over the top. This past week he cracked me up imitating Tim and it was good to see this other side of him. Chloe - One of the judges mentioned that Chloe knows how to design for a woman. Her leaf dress was beautiful & actually looked like fabric, though I was plenty worried she wouldn't finish in time. Kara - Surprised me this week. I haven't liked much of her stuff. With Daniel having immunity on the next episode, it comes down to Nick, Santino, Chloe & Kara. I don't think she'll be around much longer. Andre - Andre was talented and I hated to see him go, but this last dress was just meh. I do think he got robbed when his stunning "dirty water" dress didn't win. Nick - Nick is one of my favorites. He was so cute when they met Sasha Cohen and was crushed when what's her name Zarena(?), swiped his model. I don't get why one of the judges referred to his dress as vulgar. (Vulgar was that dress a few weeks ago, where the poor model's bootie was hanging out). I don't see Nick as the winner but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he'll make it to the last three. Daniel - A sweet guy & consistently one of the best. My bets are on Daniel. (8 Comments |Comment on this)

12:52 pm	Man Without a Country? Another QAF refugee here, new to the world of LJ. Like many, with the Showtime Boards closing, I feel somewhat like a man without a country, or at least, a community, so I guess this is an attempt to keep in touch with the diverse group of people I've come to love, and hopefully reconnect with many that have already moved on.
